KEMIREMBE MILLENIUM

KEMIREMBE MILLENIUM

What Did you enjoy about the program?

I enjoyed the weekend online classes because they were flexible and easy to follow, allowing me to learn without disrupting my week schedule.

The sessions were practical and focused on tools like R, advanced excel, google forms, kobo collect, and SPSS, which helped me strengthen my skills in analyzing data. I appreciated how the instructors used real examples, making it easier to understand how these tools apply to research and M&E work.

I also enjoyed the interactive learning environment. Even though the classes were online, we had opportunities to ask questions, share experiences, and learn from one another.

This made the lessons engaging and helped me better understand how different people apply research tools in their fields. Overall, the program improved my confidence in using research software and applying statistical methods more accurately.

It filled the gap I previously had in accessing advanced tools and mentorship, and it has already strengthened my ability to contribute to evidence-based decision-making, program evaluations, and future research projects.

PROFILE

Name: KEMIREMBE MILLENIUM

Kemirembe Millenium is an emerging Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) professional with a strong foundation in quantitative analysis and a growing track record of contributing to data-driven development programs in Uganda. With a Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation and a Bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Economics, she has developed a unique blend of analytical, research, and program management skills that support high-quality evaluations, strategic decision-making, and effective program implementation.

Over the past three years, she has played an instrumental role in supporting the USAID/Feed the Future Strategic Investments Activity (SIA), a program aimed at unlocking commercial financing for enterprises within agriculture, energy, and health ecosystems. Through this role, she has contributed to facilitating financing for more than 60 businesses, helping mobilize over $140 million in private capital and supporting improved livelihoods for more than 100,000 individuals in Uganda.

Millenium’s responsibilities included conducting field assessments, supporting enterprise due-diligence, verifying data quality, engaging stakeholders, and preparing detailed reports used for donor decision-making and project management. This experience strengthened her expertise in compliance, performance monitoring, and adaptive learning, key pillars of successful development programming.

In addition to field and programmatic work, she has accumulated substantial experience with digital data collection, research design, and quantitative analysis. This has enabled her to clean, manage, visualize, and interpret data more effectively. She has participated in designing MEAL tools, developing theories of change and conducting both primary and secondary data collection. This has contributed to improved reporting accuracy, timely submission of donor deliverables, and increased accountability among implementing partners and private sector actors.

Beyond her professional roles, she is committed to continuous learning, especially in strengthening her research skills. Her interest in advanced data analysis tools grew out of her experience in M&E, where the need for accurate and reliable data is critical for informing program direction and measuring impact. To bridge existing gaps, she recently undertook weekend online training in research tools and software commonly used in biostatistics.

This training enhanced her understanding of statistical concepts, data coding, and analytical workflows, empowering her to conduct more rigorous socio-economic research. The flexibility of the online program allowed her to balance learning with work, and its practical exercises improved their confidence in handling real datasets and applying advanced analytical methods. She is passionate about evidence-based decision-making and believe that high-quality data is essential for improving development outcomes. She has a strong interest in agricultural development, socio-economic analysis, and impact evaluation.

Millenium’s long-term goal is to deepen her expertise in statistical analysis and eventually contribute to academic research, collaborative studies, and publications that influence policy and practice. As she continues to advance in their career, she remains committed to producing reliable research, supporting program accountability, and using data to drive meaningful development change. Her combination of academic training, practical field experience, digital data skills, and passion for learning positions her as a valuable contributor to research institutions, development organizations, and data-driven projects in Uganda and beyond.
