Atwijukye Alex is a Program Officer with Anti-Corruption Coalition Uganda, in charge of environmental governance, investigating, analyzing, and documenting environmental corruption-related cases
Working towards having a healthy environment, where every creature enjoys the benefits derived from the environment, an environment free of contamination from wastewater because of poor government systems, and a lack of innovation to contain and manage all the contaminants of the environment.
He is pursuing a Master of Science in Molecular Biology at Makerere University, class of 2025. He holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science with several certificates in Research Question, Data Management, Project Planning, Implementation, and Advocacy. I also have a Certificate in HRBA reporting with wide knowledge and experience in handling environmental projects
Alex is a Ugandan by nationality, 40 years Old, currently living in Kampala, Uganda

CAREER HISTORY/ PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
September 2015 - to date: Project Officer –Environmental Governance
Anti-Corruption Coalition Uganda (ACCU), Kampala Key responsibilities and achievements:
Planned, coordinated, and organized annual advocacy events to share and
address some of the environment and Natural resources (ENR) corruption issues emerging from the public.
Trained the public as well as selected community-based monitors (Collaborative Forest Management groups (CFMs) and Collaborative Resource management groups (CRM) in the Karamoja Sub-region and Southwestern Uganda on evidence monitoring and reporting of transparency and accountability issues within the environment and Natural Resource sector (ENR).
Initiated partnerships and collaborations with key government agencies both at the national level and local by spearheading the process of developing MoUs and partnership agreements for example with the National Forestry Authority (NFA), Uganda Wildlife Authority(UWA), Bushenyi, Rubirizi, Nabilatuk, Moroto, Napak, and Nakapiripirit district local governments.
Coordinated lobbying and advocacy engagements with appropriate government agencies specifically government MDAs mandated to protect and conserve the Environment and Natural Resources to act on reported or exposed cases of corruption and service delivery within in Environment and Natural Resources thereby increasing their responsiveness.
Facilitated documentation of best practices of the projects through news articles, fact sheets, policy briefs, position papers, and newsletters and shared with relevant stakeholders at both local and national levels.
Contributed to the implementation of fundraising strategy and plan for the Anti- Corruption Coalition by developing concepts and project proposals for example I have developed 10 proposals and successfully secured funding for 6 proposals from the Embassy of Ireland, World Wide Fund for Nature and Care International Uganda.
Prepared and submitted regular narrative program advocacy reports (Quarterly, Annual, Midterm and End of project reports) within the agreed time and developed work plans, budgets and roll out the programs as well as monitor their performance to ensure that the deliverables are met.
Compiled and analyzed service delivery complaints from the public/citizens and using Spread sheet and SPSS and forwarded the analysis to the responsible duty
bearers for action as well as using the same information for advocacy initiatives at the national level.
Reviewing researches carried out for ACCU (by consultants) for quality, completeness and accuracy before recommending clearance for payments by ACCU; have reviewed 5research reports developed to enhance evidence-based lobby and advocacy for ENR governance and improved transparency and accountability.
Contributed to strategic decision-making, by contributing to discussions and debates on the environment and natural resource sector with government MDAs.
Spearheaded the process of establishing a reporting platform (toll-free line) at the National Forestry Authority to support communities adjacent to protected and forest reserves to participate in the monitoring and reporting of forest and Wildlife illegalities observed.

September 2017: Conducted Rapid Assessment study in slum areas of Bwaise I, II & III, and Kabalagala in sectors of education, health, and urban infrastructure that was funded by IOM.
