Name: Patrick Nyirongo
Patrick Nyirongo is a Biomedical Sciences Technologist at Chipata Central Hospital. He has a strong academic background and hands-on clinical experience. He holds a diploma in Biomedical Sciences which he obtained at Evelyn Hone College in Lusaka, Zambia and is currently pursuing his degree at Mulungushi University, where he continues to deepen his knowledge in Histopathology, Microbiology, Haematology, Blood transfusion Science and Parasitology.
Patrick gained practical experience in Medical Laboratory Science at Mazabuka General Hospital and later Chipata Central Hospital where he performed routine laboratory procedures and worked in various key roles notably Head of Molecular Biology where guided both laboratories to SADCAS accreditation in ISO 15189. His exposure to clinical diagnostics strengthened his interest in public health and infectious disease research.
As part of his undergraduate requirement at Mulungushi University, he is currently conducting research on the prevalence of Surgical Site Infections at Chipata Central Hospital, focusing on risk factors and preventive measures within the Zambian healthcare setting. His academic work reflects a commitment to improving health outcomes through evidence-based laboratory practice.
Beyond academics, Patrick has a growing interest in data analysis and modern laboratory information systems. He also explores forex trading as an additional skill, demonstrating his versatility and willingness to learn across multiple fields. Driven by a passion for healthcare and international exposure, Patrick aspires to build a professional career in research and academia. He aims to contribute meaningfully to clinical diagnostics and public health while expanding his expertise on a global scale.
