What Did you enjoy about the Classes?

I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the program “Training in Research and Implementation in the New World Era”organized by Fissori International in collaboration with AYPAD. The program was thoughtfully structured and offered a comprehensive overview of modern research tools and software, making the learning experience both engaging and highly relevant. The stepwise approach—from fundamental concepts to advanced applications—allowed for smooth learning and sustained interest throughout the course.

One of the most rewarding aspects of this training was the extensive exposure to a wide range of research and data analysis tools. The sessions on data collection platforms, data entry software, statistical packages, and visualization tools were especially practical. Learning how these tools are applied across different stages of research enhanced my confidence in handling real-world research projects and strengthened my understanding of how technology supports evidence-based implementation in today’s rapidly evolving research environment.

The program also successfully bridged the gap between statistical theory and practical decision-making. Topics such as descriptive and inferential statistics, hypothesis testing, and the role of statistics in multidisciplinary decision-making were particularly insightful. As a medical professional involved in research, I found these components extremely useful in improving my ability to analyze data critically, interpret research findings accurately, and apply statistical reasoning in clinical and academic contexts.

Overall, this training program was a highly enriching and motivating experience. It deepened my interest in research, strengthened my technical and analytical skills, and inspired me to apply these tools in future research and implementation work. I am grateful to Fissori International and AYPAD for organizing such a relevant and forward-looking program, and I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking to build strong research and implementation skills in the new world era.

PROFILE

Name: Dr. Priyadarshini Deb.

Email: debpriyadarshini@gmail.com

Dr. Priyadarshini Deb is a physician and research associate from Bangladesh with a strong interest in epidemiology, population health, and global health research. She is particularly motivated by work that combines clinical experience with data-driven approaches to understand disease patterns and improve health outcomes, especially in low- and middle-income countries.

She is currently undergoing postgraduate training and residency in Internal Medicine, with four years of structured training completed and ongoing. Working in a busy clinical setting has made her increasingly aware of the importance of reliable health data in guiding clinical decisions and planning health services.

Alongside her clinical training, she works as a research associate and remains actively involved in academic research. Her main areas of interest include epidemiology, burden of disease, non-communicable diseases, and health systems research. Dr. Deb has been involved in several research projects and have a few peer-reviewed publications, with additional manuscripts currently in progress. Through this work, I have gained experience in data collection, analysis, literature review, and manuscript preparation, as well as collaborative research with multidisciplinary teams.

In addition to hospital-based training, she is engaged in community healthcare where she practices as a general physician and the founder of Sara Clinic, where she focuses on providing accessible and patient-centered primary care. She also works as a Health Officer at Compassion International Bangladesh, an NGO where she is involved in community health programs, preventive care, and health education for vulnerable populations. These roles have strengthened her understanding of population-level health challenges and health inequities.

Dr. Deb is highly passionate about research and plans to pursue a PhD in the future, with a focus on epidemiology or a related field. She is particularly interested in contributing to large-scale, collaborative research initiatives that produce comparable and actionable health metrics across regions. She hopes to contribute clinical insight and contextual understanding from Bangladesh, while also learning from global collaborators and strengthening my skills in epidemiological research.
