What i enjoyed most was seeing the transition from theoretical research methods to actual project implementation. Beyond the technicalities of project implementation, i valued the mentorship on professional navigation for example i learnt how to communicate to stakeholders and manage the project team.
PROFILE
Name: Dr. Nansereko Racheal Kabuye
Dr. Nansereko Racheal Kabuye, a distinguished academic and researcher, was born in Uganda. Dr. Kabuye has amassed over 11 years of teaching experience in prominent universities across Uganda, excelling in both undergraduate and postgraduate education. Her academic journey has been nothing short of impressive.
Dr. Kabuye earned her PhD in Business Administration, with a focus on Procurement and Logistics Management, from Nkumba University, where she also completed her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in the same field. She has actively supervised more than 40 Master’s theses and over 100 undergraduate research dissertations, ensuring that her students meet high academic standards while also contributing practical knowledge to the field.
As a recognized expert in procurement and Logistics management, Dr. Kabuye is not only a published scholar but also plays a pivotal role in curriculum design and review, competency-based education, and various strategic projects including grant proposal writing.
Currently Dr. Kabuye is a senior Lecturer at Nkumba University, she also collaborates as an Associate Consultant and Lecturer at the Uganda Management Institute (UMI). In her role as a Senior Lecturer, she has developed and organized courses, supervised student research, and actively participated in academic programs that bridge theoretical knowledge with practical insights.
Dr. Kabuye’s professional development includes various trainings, such Research and project Implementation. As a Mentee in research methods, Research tools & software in Biostatistics, she has advanced in securing, writing and implementing grants under the Guidance of Freya International school of Research and Implementation (FISORI). She has also trained in Enhancing personal Research effectiveness through Writing Communities and Skillful Publication Organized by CODESRIA African Diaspora support to African Universities Programme.
Dr. Kabuye is an active member of the Institute of Procurement Professionals Uganda (IPPU), that builds the capacity of all procurement professionals in the country.
Her contributions to academia extend beyond teaching. Dr. Kabuye is recognized for her research presentations at various conferences, including the Annual PhD Conferences at Nkumba University, where she discussed how transformative PhD research can shape the global landscape.
Recently, Dr. Kabuye completed her PhD research, titled “Purchasing Management Practices and Growth of Micro and Small Enterprises in Uganda, focusing on women-owned restaurants within Kampala under the supervision of Professor Wilson Muyinda Mande and Dr. Lutaaya Sadat. She developed a model from her study (Sustainable Adoption of Group Purchasing, SAGP- model) to foster growth of micro and small restaurants.
Her scholarly work continues to drive her field forward, and she has notable publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Her skill set includes analytical thinking, effective communication, and mentorship, making her an asset in both educational and professional settings. Dr. Kabuye’s commitment to her students, her research, and her contributions to academic discourse underscores her dedication to fostering growth and innovation in the fields of business administration and procurement.
Outside of her professional endeavors, she enjoys reading, writing, and cultural exploration, reflecting her belief in the importance of continuous learning and development.

Dr. Nansereko Racheal Kabuye is an accomplished academic and researcher with over 11 years of teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in accredited universities in Uganda. She holds a PhD in Business Administration (Procurement & Logistics Management), alongside a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in the same discipline, all from Nkumba University.
Dr. Kabuye has supervised more than 40 Master’s dissertations and over100 undergraduate research projects ensuring academic rigor and practical relevance. She is a published scholar in international journals and lead researcher, Dr. Kabuye is recognized for her expertise in procurement and Logistics management, Business administration, curriculum design and review, competency-based education, as well as leadership in strategic projects like grants proposal writing.
